Flats fishing is picking up!!

Water temperatures are beginning to drop as we head into fall and the reds and speckled trout are becoming more active. The first couple hours of daylight as well as the last few hours before dark have been dynamite! The fish are tailing and feeding steadily until about 8:30 am and then they take a siesta. In the coming weeks, that feeding period is going to extend itself throughout the day. October and November is the absolute best time of year to come down and catch reds on fly or spinning tackle in super shallow water! I can't seem to stop night fishing! There are still tons of big trout and reds on the docklights and that trip is always a safe bet to get your rod bent! In the upcoming weeks, l'm really looking forward to going out in the Gulf to catch bonito (false albacore) on fly. It's an absolute blast to catch a fish that puts you in your backing before you can count to two!! Come on down and get in on some of the best fishing of the year this fall!!
Big trout and reds on the dock lights!! And we're still oil free!!!!

Night fishing has been insanely good lately! Lots of 20"+ trout are being caught on fly and soft plastics under the lights. We're catching brute redfish too at night. If you're coming down this way, I can't recommend this trip enough! It's just too fun! Jim Richard caught three 24" trout on three casts two nights ago!! I've been running so many night trips that I haven't been out on the beach in about 10 days for tarpon fishing. I'm getting good reports that they're still pouring through and eating well. My next report will definitely have more info on tarpon. However, tonight, I can't wait to hit the lights again!!
