Late November Redfishing

It’s Thanksgiving time and the great redfishing on the flats is giving me something to be very thankful for. They’re standing on their heads early in the morning and on some days all the way through the afternoon. The redfish have been gobbling up flies that imitate shrimp or very small crabs. A spoon fly has deadly if the fish are really rooting in the mud! It’s been almost too easy with spinning gear. But, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been fun! Soft plastics have been the ticket. Although, a friend of mine is still catching reds and specks on topwater plugs. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and be sure to give us a holler if you’re down here for the holidays!
